Just been messing with this ship.. I'm guessing for PVP focus on it's alpha strike and tank.
Here is piccy of setup from fitting proggy, any ideas on improving without going faction / officer router.
7507 alpha with sustained 1115 dps, not bad at all for a missile spitter. And with twin painters and painting bonus it should shred even BCs with rage torps.
I guess it's a no-brainer.. but then I'm a stupid pirate so what do I know
Golem PVP
Feel free to call me a noob if I've made mistakes here, been out of game but this ship looked dam nice for blowing crap up :)
o/ Tiller,
Problem with Mauraders as a whole is, you can almost permajam them with a bunch of ecm drones. They did that on purpose to prevent Mauraders from becoming pvp ships. I reccomend faction ships insted.
You setup looks like a PvE one. In fact, it pretty much is a PvE one Im gonna tell everyone you have gone carebear now :)
Anyhow, if you must pvp with golem my opinion would be...
1. You need smartbombs to pop ECM drones. Im thinking using those 3 Empty Highs with some t2 smarts though that would create fitting problems. (offlined so you can heat them is a option, or fitting mods is needed) 2. Someone neuts you and your midslot setup is finished. You can carry 30+ cap booster 800 charges to keep your tank going.
But yeah, I think if you got a logistics helping you out, it can work well. There is a guy who sits 150km+ off a gate in low sec and uses ecm cloak golem to gank people his hic alt catches. ECM for his own defence so he can warp out as needed. --

And tbh, they aren't strictly NPCing ships, just horribly gimped for PVP with the glaring ECM weakness and tractor beam bonus.
Yeah. Med smarts could be the solution since he has falcon alt to take care of standard ship jammers. His main weakness is that even a small number of ecm drones can cause problems. --

was only gonna use the ship as dps dealer in small gangs..
You could use it as a bait ship. I mean, anyone who sees a golem in lowsec has $$$ in one eye and "easy target" in the other. With 30 Cap boosters, you probebly could run 2 x Xlarge Boosters II in a bait setup --

Originally by: Deva Blackfire Not sure if its worth to use golem for pvp over raven tbh. You wont solo in it anyways (or will you?) and alpha isnt THAT important (vs ships larger than cruiser you will check DPS part not alpha anyways). And as raven has same dps as golem... meh just put torps and blast away.
Also: drop rage torps, put CN ones and remove 1 painter. For cruisers use javelins. But like i said: as you will have tackle (nothing like that on golem) normal raven does EXACTLY same job but is much cheaper.
Getting people to fight you is not always easy. If I see a drake, then it is obviously a trap. A Golem, especially one near a mission system makes any pvper think "Omg, im soo on its killmail" and start making silly mistakes. Sometimes its not the ship, but what people think that matters most --
